The travel industry chief who uncovered the mainsteam possibilities of naturist holidays is battling to save his reputation. Chris Mottershead was suspended in April after Travelzest, the company he founded, announced it was investigating an alleged “potential misappropriation of company funds”.
The heads of Travelzest’s various divisions - which include a naturist holiday operation, package trips to Cuba, and French villa hire - are to meet in London this month for what would normally be a routine management round table.
Peng Travel is the UK’s leading provider of naturist holidays. Founded in 1971, it pioneered the provision of package holidays from the UK to genuine naturist destinations around the world. Peng Travel was swallowed up by Travelzest when it was purchased by Travelzest back in May 2006
Sources close to the company suggest that those leading the probe are “no nearer knowing when it will conclude than they were when it started” and details of the inquiry are, to say the least, sketchy.
Meanwhile, Mottershead has come out fighting, denying having done anything wrong. He has instructed solicitors to sue Travelzest for defamation on the basis of its statement to the stock exchange announcing the investigation.
Whilst the share price of Travelzest has been effected by this it is not thought that any holidays will be.
