More naturist news from in and around the world as Germany who traditionally tolerant of nudity and naturists, plan to give naked ramblers their own wilderness path is still some way from the sunny uplands. A campsite manager, Heinz Ludwig, aims to establish Germany's first official naked ramblers' footpath - an 18km (11-mile) route in the Harz Mountains. However it is not supported by the local community.
The onwer of the site was quoted as saying "It's a secluded area, away from traffic, in the GDR people used to bathe there, too."
He says some keen naturists have already tested the trail. The plan is to open it officially next May. A sign has been put up warning those averse to naturism that they might prefer to go elsewhere.
He went onto say; "If you don't want to see people with nothing on then you should refrain from moving on,"

Peng Travel In Trouble
As I reported earlier in the year about the troubled parent group - The future of Travelzest, a tour operator offering holidays ranging from naturist resorts to trips to Cuba and Morocco, is in doubt this weekend after the company failed to secure £2m pledged to it in a fundraising. A source close to the company claims that two shareholders withdrew an offer to inject fresh funds into the company after they tried to change the terms of the deal at the last minute.
AIM-listed Travelzest thought it had raised £5.7m through the issue of new shares, funds it needs to meet lending agreements with its banks. It announced on Friday morning to the stock exchange that investors had approved the share placing.
However, after the market closed in the afternoon, the company said that investors accounting for £2m of the new funds had failed to meet the deadline for paying the money, and that it would need to find an alternative means of securing the funds.
It will be a real shame if Peng are one of the companies to fall by the wayside this year !!!!!

Canada First Naturist Retreat To Close
Some naturist news from around - as reported in the Canadian press this week by this time next month, about 150 nudists will be cast out of the province's oldest naturist retreat because their 100 acres of Eden is being sold to a private owner. The several dozen nudists who live within Glen Echo's grounds on campsites got their eviction notices on Tuesday. The nudist movement in Ontario had its genesis with Glen Echo Park, which was founded in 1955 as a cooperative.
Most in the community got their first taste of naturism at the site, which is nestled along the Oak Ridges Moraine in King Township. In its mid-1990s heyday, as many as 350 families were members. But interest in the movement has sagged across the world in recent years. Glen Echo's owners, Mary and Edward Todorowsky, are approaching 80. Since 2005, they've been trying to sell to someone within the nudist community, who would keep their sanctuary open. But after fours years of trying and several failed offers, the Todorowskys gave up.

Naturism On The Increase?
There were a number of articles in the UK press this week quoting the BNF as reporting that calls and enquiries to naturists clubs had gone through the roof. With the scorching sun and the weather becoming humid there has been a stiff increase in the number of people frequenting this nudist beaches. According to the British Naturism Foundation, the number of people contacting its sun clubs and nudist beaches rose from 2,000-a-week to 12,000 as temperatures rose to more than 86F (30C).
The craze of getting once body tan seemed to be one of the main reasons for the rise among the people. The Telegraph quoted spokesman Andrew Welch, as saying, "It's been staggering, much more than the usual levels of interest we get". He adds: "And the rise is mainly through women wanting that perfect tan, particularly the younger generation."

No Nude Down Under
Tourism Central Australia (TCA) has dropped out of negotiations over the creation of a nudist resort near Alice Springs. The idea of a resort was raised last year via an anonymous phone call to the organisation asking them to gauge the public's reaction. A homestead about 70 kilometres east of Alice Springs was considering the idea. TCA's Peter Grigg said he has now done all he can to push the part time nudist venture and it is up to the owners of the homestead as to what they decide.
"They are, as I'm aware at this point in time, trying to determine what their markets will be and will chase those markets," he said. "The primary interest for them at the moment is the four-by-four market, just because it's placed out there on the Binns Track and it's a spectacular part of the world to do any four-by-four activity."

Seahorse Stir At Studland Bay
Hello all you UK Naturists - hope you are enjoying the sunshine today I know I am. Earlier in the month I blogged a story about the seahorses found at Studland Bay. Well now a row has broken out over a protection zone to save the seahorses off my favourite bit of Dorset coastline. A voluntary anchor-free zone is being introduced at Studland Bay which is now home to the country’s largest breeding seahorse colony. It is planned that wardens will patrol and photograph the area to create a map of boating activity during the busy summer season.
Experts will then compare data from the seagrass in the anchor-free zone and a control zone where boats can anchor to judge the impact on the seahorse territory. But locals fear it will turn in to a ‘naming and shaming’ exercise with boats that are anchored in the bay named on the internet. They also believe the seagrass and seahorses are thriving as they and should be left alone - just a nature intended.

Naturist cruises on the increase
According to a recent report in Britain’s Sunday press, nudist cruises are on the increase. Cruising in the buff has been popular with Americans for some time now, but naturist cruise specialists are reporting an upsurge in guests from other countries, particularly Britain, from where some travel agents are booking 50% more clothes-free customers than they were a year ago.
Nudist cruises, or clothing-optional cruises, are always private charters of cruise ships. Get Naked In County Kerry
As reported in the local press today, naturists calling for the creation of a nudist beach at Inch strand are claiming the ban on nude bathing in Kerry is costing the local tourism industry thousands in lost revenue. Ahead of last Friday's local elections the Irish Naturist Association (INA) repeated their call on Kerry County Council to provide a "clothing optional" beach facility at Inch strand. The organisation sent letters to the county manager and all local election candidates seeking their support for a nudist area at Inch Strand.
According to the INA, naturists have been using Inch for nude sunbathing for years without any compliant from the public and now they are seeking official permission to turn a section of the popular beach into a nudist area.
INA president Pat Gallagher says that creating a naturist area at Inch could be worth a fortune to the local tourist economy.
"Such facilities are common place in almost all other EU member countries and are frequented by the many millions of European naturists. Naturist tourism generates billions of euros each year across Europe and is one of the fastest growing tourist segments worldwide," he said.
"We receive numerous inquiries from naturists each year as to where it would be possible to use beach facilities as part of their holiday should they come to Ireland. We have to advise that no such facilities are provided by local authorities. We are certain that many potential tourists are lost to Ireland because no such facilities exist," he said.

Singles Outdoor Club Naturist Walks
Yet another intersting Naturist Website I cam across over the weekend. You might be surprised to find out that it is possible to enjoy walking in the remoter parts of the countryside of South East England in the nude. The fact is that few people wander further than 200 yards from a car park. We often walk for several hours without meeting anybody and - weather permitting - have been able to remain nude for 80% or more on many of our walks which range from 9 to 12 miles.
The object of these walks is to enjoy the exhilaration of walking without the encumbrance of clothing. We are not planning to make any sort of political point, or to make any sort of challenge to other members of the public. It is our policy to carry "cover-up" garments which we put on when we cross a road, see other walkers approaching us from a distance, or realise that we are about to pass farmers working in their fields. Just occasionally we meet someone without warning, and just greet them with a cheerful "good afternoon." As far as we know we have not given offence to anyone in the 14 years that our walks programme has been in existence.
The walks programme for this year is now prepared and an outline is published on this site. If you would like to take part in these walks why not join SOC now, and you will receive full details of the walks as well as a wealth of information about other club activities. SOC forms an excellent opening into naturism for single people, but couples and married folk are also very welcome. You will find an application form on the main SOC website.

As widely reported in the Financial press Travel Industry Chris Mottershead veteran finds himself defending his reputation. The travel industry chief who uncovered the mainsteam possibilities of naturist holidays is battling to save his reputation. Chris Mottershead was suspended in April after Travelzest, the company he founded, announced it was investigating an alleged “potential misappropriation of company funds”.

Peng Travel is the UK’s leading provider of naturist holidays. Founded in 1971, it pioneered the provision of package holidays from the UK to genuine naturist destinations around the world. Peng Travel was swallowed up by Travelzest when it was purchased by Travelzest back in May 2006
Sources close to the company suggest that those leading the probe are “no nearer knowing when it will conclude than they were when it started” and details of the inquiry are, to say the least, sketchy.
Meanwhile, Mottershead has come out fighting, denying having done anything wrong. He has instructed solicitors to sue Travelzest for defamation on the basis of its statement to the stock exchange announcing the investigation.

Great Website For Naturist Bikers
Browsing through the web I came across this great naturist website http://motorcyclenudes.org . Here is some information about them (which I hope they do not mind me putting here). Motorcyclenudes.org is a web-based “club” for naturists who are also motorcyclists. The Motorcyclenudes site now has coverage of our past events, pictures of members and their bikes, and much more in the memberzone. We have only been in existence for around four years, and so are still building our content.
"Motorcyclenudes has already held several nude bike rallies in the UK. Motorcyclenudes.org is a site aimed at naturists who are also motorcyclists. We are UK based, and activities are limited to the shores of Britain (at least they are for now!) We do have plans for Europe, and eventually, we may grow big enough to take over the world, but for that we need time!"

We are UK based, and activities are limited to the shores of Britain (at least they are for now!) We do have plans for Europe, and eventually, we may grow big enough to take over the world, but for that we need time!"

Naturism In The News : Nude Art Show And Open House
White Tail Resort, Virginia's only year round naturist resort, hosts its 19th Annual National Nude Art Show & Sale and Open House on June 6 & 7, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. The general public is invited to visit to enjoy the Art Show and to discover what clothes free recreation offers them and their families. The Art Show is free for all to attend; the Open House is free for first time visitors. During Open House hours, visitors are most welcome to stay clothed, unless using one of our pools, the hot tub, or the sauna.
Artists are invited to display and sell their nude art, sculptures and photographs. Every year, participating artists present a variety of nude works in various media. These sell very well to our members and guests. Juried award selections will be made for Best in Show, 2nd place and 3rd place. The show will be held under our covered pavilion or in the event of inclement weather in our fully climate controlled large social hall.

As reported today in the Irish press some beaches there are making the top naturist beaches lists. The simple bare necessities . . . can be found on Irish beaches. When you dream of the nicest beaches to lie scantily clad on absorbing some rays, Ireland would probably not even feature. Especially if you wanted to go topless, never mind completely nude. Well it seems we Irish are alone in thinking this because Hotels.com has named not one but two Irish beaches in its top 10 best nudist beaches in the world.
Hawk Cliff in Dalkey and the appropriately-named Inch Beach in Kerry are holding their own against heavy hitters in Spain, Florida and Greece.

Naturist Holidays : Camping In Hungary
Continuing my look at various naturist holidays around the world. The Sziksósfürdő Naturist Campsite and Beach welcomes You on its 5 acres of park area, found in immediate proximity of the lake! We offer pitches with electric hook-ups for tents and caravans from 1st of May to 30th of September. Log cabins for two or four persons are available if booked in advance. There are caravans and tents (2-3-4 persons) for hire.
A snack-bar and a fast food restaurant waits for you. An open barbecue pitch and a kitchen maintained especially for the camping guests offer possibility for cooking. In the camping you will find showers with hot and cold water and flushing toilets.
There are sport facilities. You can go in for volleyball, turul (special Hungarian ball game), badminton, feet-tennis, table-tennis, biliard, table-football. There is a bodybuilding-room, too. Naturally, you can swim in the lake, run, jog, play football, go on a hike. In the shallow water the kids will find lots of water-games. An open playground and a separated Games Room are providing for entertainment. Recreation and entertaiment for the adults are provided in the Community Room, where you can find a great variety of parlour games, a reading corner with magazines and books, Internet, TV, VHS-player, DVD-player, Hi-Fi studio and others.
