More naturist news from in and around the world as Germany who traditionally tolerant of nudity and naturists, plan to give naked ramblers their own wilderness path is still some way from the sunny uplands. A campsite manager, Heinz Ludwig, aims to establish Germany's first official naked ramblers' footpath - an 18km (11-mile) route in the Harz Mountains. However it is not supported by the local community.
The onwer of the site was quoted as saying "It's a secluded area, away from traffic, in the GDR people used to bathe there, too."
He says some keen naturists have already tested the trail. The plan is to open it officially next May. A sign has been put up warning those averse to naturism that they might prefer to go elsewhere.
He went onto say; "If you don't want to see people with nothing on then you should refrain from moving on,"

Naturists Fight To Save Homes
More naturist news from around the world as over 100 naturists at Glen Echo Park in Canada are set to fight for their rights under the Residential Tenancies Act in a series of Landlord and Tenant Board hearings in Toronto originally scheduled for October some of which have now been moved forward to September 28th, due to impending sale of the Park on October 1, 2009.
Members of the community located about 50 km north of Toronto were caught off guard when they received a vaguely worded letter in late August from the current owners, Edward and Mary Todorowsky, saying their beloved Park was closing its doors October 1.
When members sought clarification from the Todorowskys, they received only vague and nebulous responses, if any. A registered letter sent by one resident asking clarification was simply ignored.
Members are scrambling to learn what their rights are and what options are available to them, given the sudden muteness of the owners and the numerous written assurances given in recent years that the Park would only be sold to individuals with the clear intent to continue the naturist community.
Lets hope they win through.

New Naturist Beach In Hartlepool
More naturist news from in and around the UK as a move to formally designate a section of a popular beach for naturists is set to be discussed by council chiefs next week.
Hartlepool Borough Council was approached by the Three Rivers Outdoor Club earlier this summer asking for a naturist beach at the south end of Seaton Carew.
The established club, which has around 30 members, claim naturists are an "oft-misunderst minority group" and say there are no designated beaches in the North East.
They also claim it could give the local economy a boost and in a letter to the council, group members suggested designating the section of beach adjacent to Seaton Carew Golf Club, as an ideal spot for a 'clothing optional' area.

Naturist Rally
More naturist news from around the world - Naturist group plans Sunday rally to protest the naturist ban at Trail 6 beach Orange County, which was to begin after Labor Day. A naturist group is asking beach-goers to ditch their clothes and bring signs this weekend to San Onofre's Trail 6 to protest the state's crackdown on public nudity at the state beach.
The announcement comes a day after officials with the state Department of Parks and Recreation said they would begin citing nude sunbathers at the traditionally clothing-optional beach. That nudist group contends the state would violate California law by issuing citations. They say a Superior Court ruling that sides with the naturists will stand until the state's Supreme Court decides to hear an appeal.
State park rangers will attempt to seek voluntary compliance before handing out citations at the beach, which has a more than 20-year tradition of nudity. The rally is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the sound end of Trail 6 beach.

No Speedos Please

The theme park that banned the swimwear as “too revealing” last month is to host a naturist weekend at its Splash Landings hotel.
Around 400 guests, including many families, will be treated to a naked disco, treasure hunt and bingo, as well as being allowed to frolic in the buff in the Jacuzzi, tropical pool and water slides. Peng Travel In Trouble
As I reported earlier in the year about the troubled parent group - The future of Travelzest, a tour operator offering holidays ranging from naturist resorts to trips to Cuba and Morocco, is in doubt this weekend after the company failed to secure £2m pledged to it in a fundraising. A source close to the company claims that two shareholders withdrew an offer to inject fresh funds into the company after they tried to change the terms of the deal at the last minute.
AIM-listed Travelzest thought it had raised £5.7m through the issue of new shares, funds it needs to meet lending agreements with its banks. It announced on Friday morning to the stock exchange that investors had approved the share placing.
However, after the market closed in the afternoon, the company said that investors accounting for £2m of the new funds had failed to meet the deadline for paying the money, and that it would need to find an alternative means of securing the funds.
It will be a real shame if Peng are one of the companies to fall by the wayside this year !!!!!

Canada First Naturist Retreat To Close
Some naturist news from around - as reported in the Canadian press this week by this time next month, about 150 nudists will be cast out of the province's oldest naturist retreat because their 100 acres of Eden is being sold to a private owner. The several dozen nudists who live within Glen Echo's grounds on campsites got their eviction notices on Tuesday. The nudist movement in Ontario had its genesis with Glen Echo Park, which was founded in 1955 as a cooperative.
Most in the community got their first taste of naturism at the site, which is nestled along the Oak Ridges Moraine in King Township. In its mid-1990s heyday, as many as 350 families were members. Teesside Naturists
As reported in the local UK press recently A naturist club’s secretary believes nudist sites on two Teesside beaches would boost tourism by attracting the “buff pound” and give official status to sites already used for naked bathing. Three Rivers Outdoor club has made two separate applications to Redcar and Cleveland and Hartlepool Councils for two stretches of beach to be set aside for those who prefer their birthday suits to swimsuits.

Spanish Naturists Kick Off
As reported widely in the Spanish press this week - a naturist group is poised to take legal action against El Ejido council after it banned baring all on its beaches. Naturist associaiton, La Asociación de Naturistas-Nudistas de Andalucía (ANNA) believes that the position taken by El Ejido council is “illegal” and “anti-constitutional” and is currently taking legal advice.
The ban was introduced last December as part of widespread council reforms despite the best efforts of group members. ANNA spokesman, Rafael Ortiz, revealed he wrote to town mayor, Juan Enciso, last summer while the bill was being drawn up, warning him of its illegality and of their intention to challenge it.
Ortiz cited a ruling from the High Court of Andalucia (TSJA) which proved “this current bill only serves to terrorise normal citizens because it has no legal foundation”.
Mayor Enciso has denied ANNA’s claims. He explained: “Nobody challenged this decision while the bill was being drawn up.” He said that nudism was not allowed in any El Ejido beaches and that no official requests had been made to allow the creation of one.

New Naturist Beach To Be Found In Suffolk
More local naturist news from around the UK. With only just a few wees left before one of Britain's oldest nudist beaches is closed, the search is on to find a suitable replacement spot up on the north Suffolk coast. The existing naturist beach at Corton, near Lowestoft, will become a general use area at the end of this summer season because coastal erosion has significantly reduced the amount of sand available for sunbathers.
Now Waveney District Council is speaking to local communities to try and find an alternative site for the naturists along the district's coastline, which stretches from Corton in the north, past Lowestoft to Southwold. In December last year, the council carried out a public consultation before deciding to go ahead with the plans to get rid of the naturist site, and said that they would explore other potential locations which are not as badly affected by erosion.
The new nudist beach would also have to have adequate parking and transport provision, good access to the beach, not be too overlooked and have support from the local community.
At least they have made a commitment to TRY and establish another area for the naturists.

Naked Ramblers Cause a Stir
As reported in the UK National press this week a group of naturist ramblers has sparked controversy by organising walks through popular beauty spots. Unsupecting dog walkers and horseriders encountered the group of 28 nude walkers on the South Downs Way above the Sussex village of South Harting. A lady who was out walking her dog, said: “The chap in the lead said ‘We’re a group of naturist walkers. Do you have any objection to naked bodies?’
A group out horse riding also encountered the ramblers where reported assaying “We thought it was quite funny galloping up from the back of Harting Down to come across this line of bare bottoms with rucksacks."

Government to look at naturists’ claim for equality
As reported in the UK press today Harriet Harman is set to embrace yet another minority group who claim to be victims of discrimination – naturists. The Government Equalities Office, which is overseen by Labour’s deputy leader, is promoting claims that devotees of naturism and nudist campsites suffer prejudice equivalent to that experienced by gays, ethnic minorities and the elderly.

Skinny Dip '09 numbers announced
As reported in the World Press this week - The AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) has announced that an inspiring 13,648 people participated in the baseline-setting skinny dipping record for the Guinness Book of World Records. As a wrap-up of Nude Week, 2009, naturist clubs across North America participated in this event on July 11 by encouraging their members and visitors to take a nude dip at exactly the same time.
Each resort then forwarded its count to AANR and the total was released on August 20. AANR resorts hope to beat their 2009 numbers next year in what will probably become an annual record-breaking attempt .

Its Is Off For The Wyre Naturists
As reported earlier this week in the UK press the plug has been pulled on plans for the area's first naturist camping festival, due to have been held next month in the grounds of an historic Over Wyre hall. Former Blackpool North Tory MP Dr Harold Elletson of Parrox Hall, Preesall, had agreed to rent part of his 300 acres for the 'Nudefest' organised by British Naturism (BN).
But the event – scheduled for September 11 to 13 – failed to pull in enough people and has now been cancelled.
BN said that by the time the deadline for confirmed bookings for the Nudefest ended there had not been enough takers to make the event worthwhile. BN had said earlier this year they needed "a significant number of confirmed bookings" to ensure it went ahead. This week their spokesman Andrew Welch said the fact that the event was in mid-September could have made nudist campers worried about the possibility of cold or wet weather.
BN hoped scores of caravan and tent owning naturists would camp in the grounds of the old hall, which has been in the Elletson family for generations. They had also indicated local people were welcome to join BN and attend what they called a "unique gathering".

Key West Might Get A Naturist Beach
News just in for all you international naturists. Key West -- The come-as-you-are island city of Key West features a nude rooftop bar, guest houses with clothing-optional pools and the 10-day, world-famous debauchery known as Fantasy Fest, where body paint passes as clothing. On the island's public beaches, though, going au naturel has been illegal since 1983.
That might change soon. A group of naturists is campaigning to amend the city's nudity ordinance to allow a section of city-owned beach to go nude. City Commissioner Bill Verge plans to propose at this week's city commission meeting an Oct. 6 referendum. Advocates say the change could bring more tourists to the cash-strapped city.

One Last Summer For Naturists
As reported in the California press, naturist beachgoers will have one last summer to sunbathe in the buff on a strip of San Onofre State Beach. State parks officials say they will give nude sunbathers verbal warnings that clothing isn't optional on the 1,000-foot stretch of beach, officials say nudists will be cited after that and arrested if necessary. This ends a long battle to keep the beach 'clothing optional'.

Parks officials said they were rescinding their longtime policy because of an increasing number of complaints from the public of lewd behavior. Nudists have frequented the beach at the south end of the state beach near Camp Pendleton for more than thirty years.

Cover Up At Cannes
As reported in the International press this today the French resort, home to the world's most famous film festival, has issued a decree banning naturism on the Mediterranean seafront after wealthy yacht owners complained that acres of bare tanned flesh were lowering the tone. Municipal spokesman Iris Perben said that the council had reissued an order reminding sun-worshippers that nudity is banned on all Cannes beaches, except those on the island of Sainte Marguerite.
